To our members who have asked for evening meetings, we missed you
last month! We held our January meeting in the evening, but sadly, it
didn’t boost attendance. Since mornings seem to work better for the
officers and the majority of members who want to attend, that’s when
we’ll continue to meet. For everyone else, here’s what you missed:
For PTSA, tax time is November. Our Federal and State tax
returns, along with our Charitable Trust renewal, were all filed in
a timely manner before the 11/15/18 deadline.
The Treasurer’s Reports for August through December were
approved, and all checks written through 12/31/18 have
been ratified. PTSA is ready for its mid-year audit.
The 2018/19 Budget was amended to allocate $500 to Alan
Pietsch’s “Jewel of a School” documentary, and $100 to
FAA’s Celebration of the Arts (Talent & Art Show).
The rest of the meeting focused on ways to increase membership, which is
currently at 102, as well as current and upcoming happenings at FAA. Minutes
will be presented for approval at our Open House meeting on May 9th
.
Now is the time to start saving your pennies (and
silver coins) for everyone’s favorite battle of the
homerooms! Penny Wars begins March 25

We haven’t forgotten our promise to reward students for
their hugely successful Art-A-Thon fundraising. We are
looking at possible dates in March or April. We have lined
up a projector and screen and are working on getting free
popcorn and water for all. The 6
th Grade Science Camp
committee is planning a food and/or bake sale at the event.
We will get you more info once plans are finalized.
